Seiko Corp. against clones made with parts?

Hello All,
I seem to remember a thread posted, maybe last year where Seiko was taking issue with all the watches built by modders using Seiko parts and dials.
Do I remember this correctly or is my mind playing tricks on me?
I tried doing a search but could not find the thread.
If anyone has a link or can set me straight I would appreciate it.
