Sorry for the pun, but I recently serviced my first alarm caliber and I have some questions/comments about it.
The watch in question is a Citizen Alarm with the cal. 980 movement (a near copy of the AS 1475) and I was surprised to see how close the alarm hammer is to the balance wheel- it almost overhangs the balance! It feels natural to have some lubrication between the hammer and resonating rod, but I can easily imagine it quickly spraying all over…
