My daughter is starting the Open University this February.
It sounds like not much but it’s actually massive. Until a few weeks ago she was dead against higher education due to the difficulties she was experienced at school. She finally agreed to get assessed and was diagnosed with ADHD recently. We are assessing dyslexia as well in a near future but that is not relevant : the important thing is that she suddenly realised that her difficulties were not related to her being stupid and that further education was a better step forward than manning the bar in a local pub.
When she started writing in primary school we offered her a Lamy fountain pen which she still uses. I thought it was a poisoned gift as she’s a false paw, but she managed it with no problems.
Now I would like her to start Uni with a new pen. For many reasons a gold nib is essential, fine or possibly medium.
I have my trusted Pelikan and have had many Parkers and Watermans in the past, but I would like her to be able to try and choose.
I haven’t yet started to look around but I seem to remember a shop near Tonbridge (we’re in Ashford, Kent).
Anyone has suggestions both for pens and local shops with an acceptable radius, please?
