I have this rather lovely (but not particularly valuable) 1968 Omega Geneve which has ground to a halt and won’t wind. I took it to my local Swiss watch repairer (as in, repairer of Swiss watches, rather than watch repairer who happens to be Swiss 😀 ) who said ‘I can’t get the parts, take it to Omega’.
I took it to my local Omega dealer who said ‘it will cost at least £650 and will take up to a year’. I don’t know what it’s currently worth, but I think I paid about £200 for it, so spending over three times that to get it fixed feels a lot.
Does anyone have any suggestions for where I could get a decent quality repair that might not cost quite as much please?
