MINT 1989 Rolex 16710 GMT Master II Coke L Serial All Original Box & Papers Tritium

For sale is a mint condition 40mm stainless steel Rolex GMT-Master II “Coke”. The L serial 16710 was supplied to its original retailer in November of 1989 based upon the red letter code on the back of its warranty paper, and is accompanied by its original boxes and papers. Included in the box and papers set are: inner and outer boxes, the original warranty paper, a red hologram hang tag, two instruction manuals, a paper holder, and a Rolex polishing cloth.

The GMT-Master II features a brushed steel case, which is accented by a bidirectional bezel that is set with a black and red “Coke” GMT bezel insert. The Rolex is mounted on its original 78360 brushed steel Oyster bracelet which is fully linked, containing 13 full-size links, and will fit a wrist in excess of 7.5 inches. The 78360 Oyster bracelet is stamped with a "N3" clasp code, which corresponds with a production date of March, 1989. The GMT Master 2 features a black dial with applied 18 karat white gold surround tritium coated hour markers, white gold tritium coated hands, and a magnified date window aperture at 3 o’clock. The tritium hour markers and hands have started to acquire an even light golden cream colored patina with age. The movement used in the 16710 is the Rolex caliber 3185, which features approximately 48 hours of power reserve, and is running flawlessly.

Condition:
The GMT’s case has been preserved well, retaining crisp original chamfers, and still retains its original caseback sticker. The Oyster bracelet contains virtually no stretch, while the coronet on the clasp remains crisp and well defined. Overall the Rolex is in mint condition, and is a wonderful all original example of a first production year reference 16710 GMT-Master II.
