I enjoy a long train journey and am toying with the idea of several weeks meandering around Europe.
However, my first impression is that leaving the UK on Eurostar and getting through France quickly using an Interrail pass is not that simple. Seats associated with the pass are limited, seat reservations are mandatory and then not available.
I’m thinking it’s not as a good a deal as it seems and am wondering if just buying an unrestricted ticket to somewhere like Trieste, Vienna, Zagreb or Ljubljana and then hopping about and buying tickets as I go along might be a better idea.
Any experiences would be appreciated.
