Hi Watch Lovers,
I bought a watch with SW200 mvt less than two years ago new fully regulated. The mvt was gritty during winding even when I received it. It should take a few winds to start up, loses time and would stop even after a full day at work.
Watch maker tested it and says low amplitude. He will charge AUD$700 to service the mvt including a new mainspring.
Qns
1. Would it be cheaper to buy a new mvt to replace than repair?
2. If swapping, is it possible to swap to an ETA 2824…
