For those of us in the London area Breguet’s famous 160 is on display at the Science Museum at an exhibition of Versailles art and science. The watch has been the subject of many articles and at least one extensive documentary.
Also in the exhibition is a marine clock by Berthoud made for Perouse’s voyage and a lavish clock showing the planets as they were known at the time. Interesting to note the Huygens was also an early member of the Versailles scientific establishment.
