550 Movement in a 165.024 Question

I've read somewhere about the earlier 165.024 used a 550 movement until approx 1966. I cannot find that document now. Can anyone shed some light please. Were they phased out by 67 or with the introduction of the big Triangle , ….. USA movement shown. .
