1950’s calib 283 or 2608?

I am a watch collector and sometimes I get unique things in on trade. I was told it was a Caliber 283. I cannot get the back off and therefore cannot verify the watch runs well. The hands and dial are closer to the 2608 in my estimation any advice or input would be greatly appreciated.
