I was reading a Public Forum post about people people trying to quell their buying habits when I was reminded of a watch I bid on last night. It was a late 30s/early 40s Tissot Antimagnetique- 37.5mm case, good chrome plated case, clean running movement, immaculate dial, and the original signed buckle!

Vintage Paul Breguette Ladies Watch

This is a vintage ladies Paul Breguette watch that I’m seeking a little more info on like approximate date, materials used, model number, so I might get a better idea of it’s history and perhaps value.

It is silver in color. The back has a brushed appearance and is marked “14KT” suggesting possibly white gold. It also has the letter “J” and “G” bracketing the 14KT markings (as in “J 14KT G”) but in a slightly different font – suggesting these may have been added (?) perhaps by a jeweler. In…

How much does a cleaning and service cost?

I have this vintage Caravelle I bought last week at a local flee market for $15 and bought a brand new band at kmart for $8.00. I like the watch it’s a mechanical it runs then stops, sometimes it will be behind 10 minutes other times it will be sport on. I usually have mixed feelings with vintage watches. “Vintage Style” Straps- Fact or Fiction?

I have noticed that one of the more popular watch strap styles these days is one where a fairly thick strap, often unlined, is accented with two very thick stiches on the sides near the springbars, and often another v-shaped stich accent on the bottom. Here’s a typical example;
