Looking for age of Cardinal watch

Tried asking on vintage watches on Reddit & the main watches sub with no luck. Thought I’d try here before I give up.

Just looking for the date specifically, any other info would be cool though. Gonna paste my message from there, thanks –

Gold colour on the strap is heavily worn but the case is ok. Photos make it look a bit more gold than it is. says 21 jewel Swiss made. 36mm I believe. More pics below thanks

My 1972 Timex 26950

I bought on a spur of the moment, perhaps wine fueled, ebay dive. It was $67 plus a tiny amount of shipping. It supposedly ran fine, the ebay ad even had a video of it running. But I had read about the M27 movement having issues with the day/date mechanism if not properly maintained. It is 53 years old, who knows if it had been maintained, right?

And when I got it I found the ugly truth, it didn’t run on the wrist, it would stop within minutes. The seller was upset at me for being upset…

Oldest Frequently Worn Watches?

As I’m sure you have seen by now, I recently got my hands on this 1915 Elgin wristwatch and I’m loving it more every day. Well this sucks…

I’ve collected watches for a few decades now, finally got the itch to clean and attempt to do a basic service on a couple of thrift store beaters. I started pulling out my collection to gloat a bit, remembered that a couple of my favourite pocket watches were in a glass mug on a shelf. I have no idea what got into them or when. The mug has been sitting on a shelf in my bedroom for at least five years, but at some point at least two inches of liquid got in the mug. Judging from the…
