I’m currently shopping for some leather high quality military/nato bands. And im not looking so much for a specific recommendation (though hey feel free to throw one out if you have it) as tips (or guides?) for what to look for in these.

Style wise you can get a sense from the pictures.

And if it is a trustworthy/well liked place from the reviews.

But I find I don’t really know what im looking for in the sense of why one band is 150 dollars and another 30. OR what is a good…

What do you look for in high quality leather bands

I enjoy wearing vintage watches that have 18mm lug widths, but I don’t have a lot of luck with the fit of the two piece leather straps that seem to be the go-to for those kind of watches. I like the feel of canvas, the simplicity of single-pass, and I don’t want metal eyelets so I can tuck it back in like a nato if it has a long tail (the eyelets make that impossible).

I found a couple nice options at CWC with their Vintage Style Canvas Watch strap – I just had to cut away the extra keeper…

I have put this strap for 5 minutes and there is already problem with the hole. I’m not sure if I should return it immediately (will lose 20€ for back and forth shipping fees) or should I keep it?

What are your experiences with NATO straps overall? This is the first one and I’m not sure if it will hold a little bit to justify 40€ I paid for it.
