Is it just me or is this line underrepresented whenever there’s a diver watch debate between Tudor/Omega or the other heavy hitters? I suppose the upper line of GS Sport Collection can get pretty pricy, but they seem like pretty cool divers to me altho…
Continue readingTimex Marlin reissues
I have quite a few Timex watches in the collection. Most are older, some are brand new. I’ve always been drawn to the Marlin models, and most of their more plain everyday offerings.
This one was found for next to nothing. A very classic design indeed…no frills (except the 21 real jewels). Love it none the less.
Then this came out recently and I was intrigued. Mainly for the color and the 3-6-9-1Z markers. I came very close to owning…
anOrdain – General Thread
anOrdain is a small microbrand company based in Scotland. anOrdain makes watches with pretty unique enamel dials and the waiting list to buy one of their watches (selling at around $2000) is more than 2 years. They use the ETA 2824-2 and SW 210-1 movem…
Continue readingIntro: New Guy Here; Appreciate advice on a BB 36
Finally joined because I’m looking to purchase my first “nice” watch and I’d appreciate leads or general buying advice. I’ll also cross- post in WTB as appropriate.
I’m fairly certain I’ve settled on a BB36– the original with the smiley dial– in black. Leads or alternative suggestions welcomed.
Use case:

Thank you!

NYC
Hey everyone. I’ll be in NYC soon and was wondering if you have any recommendations for places to check out watches. I know I can Google it, but I’d love to hear from people with firsthand experience to build a solid list. Any hidden gems or must-visit…
Continue readingShow me your enamel dial watches
Please only show wristwatches costing <$1200 either new or on the secondary market. I should add that I’m a sucker for thermally blued hands, so that would make a watch even more attractive.
To be clear, I’m not looking to buy yet, just want to see what’s out there in my…
SOTC and missing the final piece – what would you get?
[Long post alert]
I am reaching the end of my watch acquisition journey – atleast as far as higher-end watches go. Have 1 slot left in my main watch box and at some point, i will fill it. So thought I’d share the (near) end result of 11 years …
Continue readingEta movement authenticity
I am considering a second hand eta 2892 from eBay. Comes with a dial and hands and looks to be in pretty good condition.
It’s fairly decent priced at 150 euros and the seller has stated it had been removed from a watch years ago and was unused since.
The seller is from Italy and has about 40 other items, mostly watches.
What bothers me is that I found several of these movements, priced from 150 to 400 euros, all with the same exact dial. Dials are sometimes in better shape and…
