New watch: Chronofixe × Seconde/ Seconde/ Astérix

to mark the 65th “birthday” of “Astérix”, created by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo, something new is coming out of France: the Chronofixe × Seconde/ Seconde/ Astérix, limited to 500 pieces. The watch doesn’t just feature a comic character printed on the dial; the details have also been lovingly adapted – the discerning reader will notice the inscription on the bezel and the date disk…

Acceptible Accuracy for Luxury Used Watch?

Hi, I’m new here so apologies if this should go somewhere else, but curious if anyone has a take.

I just bought a Blancpain Leman Flyback (prob from early 2000’s) in LN condition from a generally reputable dealer. It seemed to be running a little weird. When I got it on the timegrapher it seemed to have some issues with amplitude. On the wrist, it was gaining even more time (2min+ per day- maybe knocking or something?).

I called the dealer (who has an in-house watchmaker/repair service)…

Pict. of your small seconds subdial pieces.

Since I haven’t seen a thread dedicated to small second subdialed pieces, I figured why not start a picture thread specifically for said timepieces.

The post criteria is this: Your piece should have a single small second subdial (not multiple subs), so, basically a three hander. I was always convinced the next watch was going to be the ONE that was going to scratch that itch! I had alot of fun and I’m glad to finally feel like I’m back in the game…

Watches in paintings.

Besides collecting watches I also collect art, paintings and sculptures. I bought this painting in an estate sale and I liked it because it shows the area where Post street and Market Street meet in San Francisco. Post street is like 5th street in NYC,…

Watches for going off to War.

On a different forum, outside of WUS, someone asked me about a current conflict that I’m familiar with. But they admitted to being ignorant about. Not going to get into politics. But after I answered his question, it occurred to me that very few of my watches would be suitable for going off to war. Honestly only my Citizen Eco-Drive BM7080-03E I bought nearly 25 years ago would be suitable.

So, if you had to go off to war, or chose to because the cause was Just; which watches from your…
