A-13A Flyback has arrived!

Just got this today. Now I own the original quartz and the latest mechanical version of the A-13A. The mechanical version is naturally more expensive as it contains a specialized Dubois-Depraz movement, but there’s other refinements like an improved textured caseback, calfskin strap, polished bezel that’s a separate piece, and improved lume. Check it twice on the timegrapher and both times it averaged less than 1 spd error over 5 positions. I did notice something kinda strange about the…

My (short) ~20 year review of my ‘original’ Marathon SAR (2004 contract)

I purchased this watch from the ‘Sales Corner’ back in 2007. Since then, it has been my “do sketchy stuff” watch. It has done exactly what it was designed to do for the 18 years I’ve had it (and it’s 21 years in existence).

If the kids saw Dad wearing the ‘orange strap watch, ‘ things were about to get fun. (80% of its life it was wearing some type of orange strap, 20% on the bracelet).
