Continue readingSMP Losing Time: Would You Advise OB or Service Center?
My SMP is losing between 1-2 minutes per week. I would imagine that it simply needs the movement to be regulated but of course, I have no way of knowing this. It has 2 months of warranty remaining, so hopefully this will be addressed with no out-of-pocket costs but that aside, is this something my OB can address locally, or should I ship it to an Omega service center? I’d appreciate your suggestions.

Well, turned out I got scammed … TWICE … Bought two Seamaster 300 in Japan years ago, both turned out to be fake. Had them both serviced by a watchmaker earlier this year (who is not familiar with Omegas), so he didn’t realise. Anyway, I learned my lesson when I tried to sell one in order to fund a different watch. Turned out the case, case back and bezel are not legit. The shop checked the other one, not legit either. I “accidentally” ended up with 2 Peter Blake seamasters and I only want to keep one. I have a bunch of black dial divers and I see no real need for 2 of the same.
I have dozens of watches, mostly vintage seiko’s, and oddball cheapy collectibles that I just like in display cases.
Most of my better watches are automatics. Other than this one, out of about 13 good watches (6 omegas, and a mix of Rolex, breitling, Tag, etc) , I only have a Tag, and an omega x33…
