My SMP is my second most worn watch in my current collection. Not a daily wearer, but it’s worn at least twice a week.

When I first took ownership of it in late 2022, I had clocked it losing about 6secs/day then. Decided to try a timegrapher app on my phone now, and it’s purported to lose 11secs/day, BE of .5ms, and amplitude between 240 – 250 degrees.

I’m not surprised at all that it’s losing even more time; it’s to be expected…

Omega 2531.80.00 : Time for Service?

So, Monday was a public holiday, Tuesday and Wednesday saw me working from home (not a fan), and yesterday and today started of slowly at work before getting slightly out of hand in the afternoons.
So, basically, this week was a little bit of BS.
Anyway, I wore the Seiko SKX009K on Tuesday (that’s the dive watch with the blue and red bezel);

I’ve had her since ~2001, second service through Omega NYC. I just opted for a mov’t service this time around. Pictures don’t do her justice, very glad and blessed to be able to daily wear her all this summer. My son appreciates my watches now as well. A lot of history and sentimentality with this one. My first big Swiss watch. Paid $1,050 from jomashop shipped, before you got hit with internet sales tax. This go around was Feb 1-June 5 $760, for anyone wondering about a factory service.

So this is a first for me…new purchase from an AD, 2024 manufacturer date, under warranty til ’29.
Woke up and noticed this- at first I thought my camera lens was scuffed but later in afternoon it was clear that moisture got in.

I’d like to buy a new Omega, and I’m wondering whether prices are likely to go up or down over the coming months.

Ideally I’d wait a couple of months until the timing suits my finances better, but if prices are likely to go up in the coming months, that would be a mistake for me.
