Vintage Longines 14k gold from the 1940s: Your opinion on the dial?

Hello everyone,

I need your help. I bought a Longines from a user in another forum, he had already sold me 2 or 3 IWCs which were all great.

I don’t know anything about Longines, I just liked the watch. The diameter without the crown is 35mm. The seller assured me that the watch is completely original. I trust him because of my good experiences with him.

Now it has arrived and I have doubts as to whether the dial is original. The Longines lettering seems ok to me in comparison with other…

30CH Spillino Ref 6592-6: Crown Question

Hi all,

I’ve recently acquired a very cool Ref. 6592-6 from 1968. It is in nice original condition, but arrived with a generic, oversized crown. I was able to source a vintage waterproof Longines crown with a similar profile that I was hoping would be “correct” for the watch, but the tap was undersized, the fit on the case tube is quite tight, and I’m not sure if the outside diameter is ever-so-slightly oversized at 6.0mm (looking at other reference examples I can find it seems like some…

1943 Sei Tacche

Hi all. I’d be grateful for any insight on this 35mm 1943 Sei Tacche that arrived today.
Very different case to my 1947, 35.5mm Longines Ref 5483 Sei Tacche, but similar to my 1940 Tre Tacche, though rounded step instead of sharp step on the front. (Sei Tacche on top in pic, Tre Tacche middle)
I really like the clean dial design, with the blued hands.
Curious what the situation would have been for retailing watches in 1943 occupied France.

Help to evaluate a Longines

Good morning everyone! I would like to get an opinion from those who are more knowledgeable than me regarding the authenticity of this Longines. I’m not very familiar with Longines watches, I’m actually looking for the first one to add to my collection. I know starting with black dial might be dangerous but I found this listed on eBay and whether I’ll eventually pull the trigger or not it will be good to learn something about. I searched for similar references but couldn’t find anything with…

The prodigal Longines returns

One of the first pieces I ever acquired when I started collecting about 15 yrs. ago was a vintage Longines Conquest similar to the one pictured here. I really adored everything about it, from the art deco indices to the racetrack dial to the lovely fi…

Longines MN research

In early 2016, I began to collect data on Longines’ Marine Nationale watches. My primary objective was to make sense of the different dial types that I had observed. With an admittedly small sample size, a pattern emerged. Three distinct dial designs that were produced consecutively with very little, if any, concurrence. I posted this information in a summarized form here: https://omegaforums.net/threads/marine-nationale-longines.35401/page-2#post-429837

Now, I have been encouraged by…
