Longines 1937 ? Your opinion

Hello,
Just arrived on this forum :). I’m French, so I apologize for my mistakes .
2 years ago I started opening , disassembling and trying to reassemble mechanical watches. I broke quite a lot of them in the beginning  but it’s far better now.
Usually I work on ordinary watches, but I got recently a watch which looks like a Longines. There is no indication on the dial but the movement looks really like a genuine 25.17 caliber. I sent an email to Longines and they answered…

Finally got my first Longines – Spirit 40mm

I have wanted a Longines Spirit for a while now. Went back and forth on the specific model – really liked the no-date version, but it’s only available in Titanium and I’m not a big Ti guy. Also considered a Zulu but I have a few GMT’s already and don’t really need the complication, plus they’re more expensive. Finally settled on a blue 3 hander, and the question was 37 v. 40. I found a well priced, near mint 40 on eBay and decided to pull the trigger.

It arrived yesterday and I am…

Vintage Longines – Can’t find the model

Hello, this watch belonged to my great grandfather. I just got a hold of it. It’s not working (I can set the time but can’t wind it), so I opened it up to see if there was some info on the movement, but I can’t find anything online about it.

On the dial it says “Longines Suiza”, which would be Switzerland in Spanish. It has blueish hands and a heavy patina. The glass (seems to be plastic IMO) is heavily scratched and cracked.

Inside, on the movement, it says “Longines 7024138”. It doesn’t…

Replaced the clasp on my Spirit Zulu Time

I have to open by saying that I absolutely love the Longines Spirit Zulu Time. It’s one of those watches where everything came together just right. The font of the applied numerals and on the bezel insert, the dial accents and printing, the applied elements on the dial, the style of the crystal, just everything.

But the one thing that I really didn’t like about the Spirit Zulu time was the clasp. I didn’t like the LONGINES text across the length of the clasp, I thought the clasp was very…

Any thoughts on the Master Collection Retrograde?

My daughter is getting married in a couple of months and I’m planning on treating myself to a new dress watch for the occasion, since I don’t really have a decent dress watch. Does anyone have experience with the Retrograde? It seems to be excellent value and is one of the most beautiful watches out there that isn’t going to run into the tens of thousands of dollars. Any…

What model do you wish Longines would re-release?

I’ve been looking at a lot of vintage Longines lately, and they have some fantastic models. If I had to pick a type of model that Longines should re-introduce, it would be the VHP. But, in the Ultra-Quartz case:

Moreover, I’d go with their earlier movement from the 90s that was accurate to +/- 10 spy, perpetual calendar, and 10 years of battery life. What would you choose to revive?
