Quartz GMT water resistance… SBGN003/005 vs SBGN027/029

I have the current quartz GMT, the SBGN027. It’s a great watch, but the monochromatic GMT hand can make checking the time at a glance difficult in some light. Also, the 12/3/6/9 lume instead of full lume gets on my nerves. So I’ve been considering the older model, the SBGN003, which has the orange GMT hand and full lume.

One downside to the SBGN003 is that the rated water resistance is 100m, while the current models feature 200m.

So now GS have micro adjustment bracelets, a poll…

There has been a lot of chatter on this subject over the last couple of years, and now GS have launched a reference addressing the critics, I am genuinely intrigued as to whether or not it will actually make the slightest bit of difference to anyone with regards real buying decisions.

I think it’s fair to assume we can expect many more references to be launched in the coming years with this feature. So don’t answer related just to SLGB003 – assume a watch that you have previously…

The specially adjusted 9F models

@BrianBinFL and I have assembled the following list of the 9F watches, which halve the usual 10 seconds a year tolerance to just 5 seconds a year through special adjustment at the factory. Most feature a ‘gold star’ on the dial, but not all.

From newest to oldest they are:
