Offering a Breitling to my father

Hello Everyone!

I’ve been looking to buy a watch for my amazing father (55yo) for a while.

Today I finally convinced him to walk through the local watch gallery.

I guided him through the brands (that existed there) that I feel would make sense to him, and my wallet: Breitling, Tudor, Longines and Tag Heuer.

At first he wasn’t interested but then I pushed forward for him to try a Longines Conquest and Zulu Time but he said these watches were nice but not close to the finesse that the…

Old Navitimer authenticity

This is my first watch ever. I bought an old Navitimer II A13022 off Chrono24, original papers and box included. The production year is supposedly 1993, and there’s a sticker with the serial & reference number (6690) on the box that match the watch…

My First Breitling!

Hi folks,

The Breitling Colt is my grail watch. I’ve wanted one for a long time. My wife blessed me with this one. I’m so grateful! The watch is a great fit on my 6.75 in wrist at 41mm with the 50mm lug to lug. The photos of the watch don’t do it justice.

The first Colt to catch my eye was the A17380….all polished. This is the A17313101C1A1 with the fully brushed case and bracelet. It’s a beautiful watch! I wasn’t sure if I would like the brushed case and bracelet, but it looks great. I…

Why Do You Love Breitling?

Hey! I used to repair watches at a department store, and used to have opinions about certain watch brands. But over the years, those opinions have changed for the better. Why do you like Breitling? What does owning one say about you?

Avenger 2024 micro-adjust clasp

Have an e-mail in to Breitling, but figured I’d check here as well…

The micro-adjust clasp on the ‘24-up models has this slot under the lip – can’t believe I never noticed it. Curious if anyone that has a new Avenger (or SuperOcean) could look at thei…

Why leave well enough alone?

Incoming A17325 38mm. Can’t decide if the blue strap will be permanent.

Went through the, (ahem…”real), Navitimer thread and I like the look of dark brown.

The stainless mesh and the cloth straps look great on the chronographs but I am not sure this model can pull off the same military or rugged rakish look of those.

Thoughts suggestions?

SuperOcean Heritage Ceramic Bezels – paint flaking issues

Hi all,

I’m considering the purchase of a SuperOcean 57 or Heritage II. However, there’s one seemingly persistent issue that’s putting me off…

Having looked at quite a few pictures of used examples of both of these models online, it seems to be recurring theme that many of them have chipped/damaged paint within the filled indices on their ceramic bezels to varying degrees.

Here is one from a Reddit member from a couple of years back:

AEROSPACE 80360 ETA 988.431 988.332 TITANIUM DOESN’T GET INPUT

Hi everybody,
I have this watch working fine for years. I stop wearing it for a while and sometimes later i noticed that it doe not get inputs properly when turning the crown or pushing it until the point that no command worked. Recently i changed battery too because i found it shut down and also with a new battery … no life. I suppose that it has to be switched on by pushing the crown inside or turning it forward maybe, but also in this case it does not get inputs as just explained and…
