Ball tritium replacement

Has anyone ever done a Ball service where Ball replaced the tritium tubes?

Was it expensive?

Can watchmakers also do it provided they have got a Ball parts account.

I ask the question because I have never seen a collage of ‘before and after service’ photos of a Ball watch where the tubes have been replaced.

What happens to all the 10 or 15 year old Ball semi-vintage watches with tritium tubes?

Isn’t this holding back the sale on the secondary market?

Has Anyone Had Success Ordering Links Lately?

I recently bought my first Ball – a neo-vintage Engineer II Ohio. I’ve been trying to get extra links for it but haven’t been able to get a hold of customer service.

A Ball AD in the US told me it’s best to contact Ball directly through the website. I have sent 2 emails in the last month or so but other than the “we received your email and will respond shortly” type of response, I haven’t received heard anything.

Aquaterra alternative

So, I have a Fireman Victory (NM2098C-S6J-BK). And I’m hunting for my next one that could replace the Aquaterra (220.10.41.21.01.002) in my queue.

  • Black dial
  • Small markers
  • No numbers
  • Only Date
  • At least 10bar of water resistance
  • Cyclops
  • Thin bezel
  • Anti-magnetic
  • Shock-resistant
  • More rounded like the Aquaterra and less edges then the Fireman Victory.

Lets put this way, for me the Fireman Victory with it edges and squared…
