I know this forum covers all Accutron, Bulova, and Caravelle watches, with a leaning towards the more modern variants, but it still has plenty of Vintage activity and questions involving vintage timepieces, warranting a small Tech Posting for mostly vintage timepieces.
** Below are several Links I have archived over the years that certainly come in handy. We get these questions from time to time on this forum, and this thread will allow those who like to collect tech info and are in need…

Accutron 214 (original) strap question

I’m not sure but my watch may have an original Accutron strap on it. I hope it’s not original because I damaged the strap near one of the pins and that is the reason for this post. I wanted a different strap and figured it wouldn’t be a problem changing straps. I do this stuff all the time (not on this watch though). So, new strap comes and lo-and-behold, I can’t get my tool on the pin to detach it. I try both ends of both sides of the strap. Nothing works. I stretched the leather…

I Have ZERO idea that this was even possible….

When my Dad passed away a few decades ago I got his watches. His daily watch was one that my sister had given him when it was new. I’m going to guess that was maybe 1972 or so.

Help With RR Approved 218

I have a RR Approved Accutron with a 218 movement. It was running and humming great, then it quit running. I put it away for a while and then recently I got it out and decided to replace the battery. Replaced the battery and it is still not working. Can anyone out there repair it without charging me an arm and a leg? I know, if you are going to play like a man you’ve got to pay like a man. I am 74 years old on a fixed income. Not looking for a handout but I just can’t afford a lot. I just…

Bulova Lunar model chrono issues

Afternoon all,

Well I have encountered a problem on my Lunar model Bulova with the chrono function. The tenths of second doesn’t work nor does the top left dial that keeps track of minutes. Upon pressing the top chrono button, the large chrono hand starts, stops, and resets fine. Its just the two smaller dial hands that now do not work. Actually the tenths hand does not point straight up any longer either. It’s strange since I hardly even wear the watch.
I will send it back to Bulova…
