Bulova Oceanographer Triple 6 Devil Diver is being a little devil!

Been a while off the forum. Still love my watches and will purchase one now and then.

So to the meat and potatoes…not too long ago I purchased a reissue Blue with Orange accents Oceanographer Snorkel 666 watch. It was love at first sight!….until…. I let it join the rotation among my other divers ( all my watches are divers – they get wet in the Atlantic, Pacific and in between ) .

Here’s what happened when I put the Triple 6 back on the wrist. CHAOS!

The watch went totally erratic…

The New Spaceview 314

Bulova, er, “Accutron” has a new Spaceview 314 coming up later this year.

the price is pretty steep but I can understand why due to the very limited appeal of the watch plus the cost of developing the movement.

One BIG caveat I’d like to throw out if you’re considering getting one: based on my experience with Bulova and Citizen service-after-the-sale, don’t bet on it being repairable if it breaks down the…

Accutron 214 (original) strap question

I’m not sure but my watch may have an original Accutron strap on it. I hope it’s not original because I damaged the strap near one of the pins and that is the reason for this post. I wanted a different strap and figured it wouldn’t be a problem changing straps. I do this stuff all the time (not on this watch though). So, new strap comes and lo-and-behold, I can’t get my tool on the pin to detach it. I try both ends of both sides of the strap. Nothing works. I stretched the leather…

I Have ZERO idea that this was even possible….

When my Dad passed away a few decades ago I got his watches. His daily watch was one that my sister had given him when it was new. I’m going to guess that was maybe 1972 or so.

A few weeks ago I got this watch out for the first time in at least 25 years. I wound it, set the time and date and put in on my wrist. To my complete surprise, the watch is keeping nearly perfect time. Again, I have zero idea how that was possible. Does anybody know something about the movement that would have…
