What do you all think of the Trainmaster line?

My dad ia the person who got me into trains and Ive been casually eyeing a white enamel dial trainmaster as a nod to him for a year or more. There is currently a decent deal on the model I like right now. And I wanted to get people here's thought on their value, reliability, etc.

Im interested in a planet ocean and he has a good deal on one in the marketplace. But for some reason doesn't seem interested in sending a timestamp photo. Which is definitely weirding me out a bit.

Have any of the regulars here dealt with him recently?

Has anyone here been hit by a customs bill yet? I have a few shipments of straps on the way and I'm debating a new alix watch. But I am concerned about getting smacked for a large extra bill since tariffs are supposed to be enforced starting March 4th.

$75-100 extra ($32 fee + 25% tariff + brokerage fee ) on a $150 watch would not be worth it imo

I also have straps enroute already does anyone know if they will be taxed?

Im going to buy the new longines Conquest but Im currently stuck debating which size to get. Sadly the longines ad in town doesn't have them in stock, as I live in the idwest where people don't buy many watches.

Im leaning toward 41 but worried it will wear too big, since this is a dressier piece.

For context I am 6-4 and thiccc so I usually just get the biggest size and go home.

I included shots of my 40.5mm Cincinnati P40 as its probably closest in size to the Conquest 41

I like the bracelet but miss the coin edge bezel and the vintage charm

I’ve recently decided that I think I prefer well printed lume indices vs glitzy applied indices. My first watch exposure was my dads old seamaster with printed tritium indices and maybe that just stuck in my brain as how its supposed to be. I still have watches with applied indices I enjoy. And maybe lumicast would be a good middle ground without polished edges, but I havent seen those in person yet.

Does anyone else here prefer old school printed dials?
