Hands on with the new SLGB003, Grand Seiko Boutique, Melbourne

It’s been ages since I bought a watch in Melbourne! My preferred place for GS/Seiko shopping is Japan, and having a JP missus and in-laws definitely helps to get a good deal.

My 45th Bday is coming soon, so I thought I’d do some window shopping. The star of the trip is definitely the SLGB003. It’s a marvelous beaut in all respects. The boutique is taking a 50% deposit now and will deliver the watch by June 1.

It wears beautifully, and the clasp is perfect, with smooth micro-adjustment…

One of those bloody this or that threads: Doxa vs Omega

So I reckon my next watch will be a diving/diver chrono!

I have these two in mind! The Doxa is cheaper new from an AD. The Omega is about $500–$600 more used.

They are both around 42 mm in diameter. The Doxa is a little shorter L2L at 45 mm compared to the Omega’s 49.5 mm L2L.

The Doxa is a bit thicker at 15.85 mm compared to the Omega’s 15.1 mm.
