Favorite Watches In Your Collection That Are Not Your Typical Style

Subject pretty much says it all. For me, 2 of my top 5 watches in the collection are divers, but I generally dislike “Diver’s” as a genre of watches. This topic I’m sure has been covered, but what the hell. What are some of your favorite watches that fall within a category that overall you’re not a fan of?

For me, it’s these two “divers” – The Sinn EZM and the slightly more ubiquitous Omega SMP 300.

Have you ever bought a watch that’s too big? (Sidebar: Don’t drink and eBay…)

Periodically we get a “is this watch too big for me?” thread. They usually include some snarky comments and “if you have to ask…” type responses. Well, here’s mine finally. I’m a bit of a period-specific Omega mark – 1995-2015 or so. I have a Railmaster, Speedy, and recently acquired SMP 300 from around this era. So naturally I have been looking at Planet Oceans for quite some time, and finally got serious about one.

Watch you took a chance on and ended up absolutely loving; or one that fulfilled expectations and beyond…

As a counterpoint to the “just not bonding with it” thread, what’s a watch you salivated over, saved up for, etc. and then ended up fulfilling all your expectations? Or, one you took a chance on and still ended up bonding with it to the point that it’s a long term keeper?
