Last night I attended a Ulysse Nardin event hosted by my local watch group. Prior to the event, I have only checked out their watches briefly at a local AD.

While the Freak is not my style, I do respect the innovation and freedom the brand works with to design its watches (orbiting escapement, use of silicon and other materials, lack of crown and hands on some models).

I came across a watch posted on C24. Good reviews there. Then went to Google and the website which links to reviews on eBay, the Rolex forum, etc. Good reviews all around it appears.

I checked them out on IG, DM'ed and sent an email. Quick responses and everything seems on the up and up.

The Marin Vault – anyone familiar?

Had a birthday lunch near my AD, so I stopped in. Not in the market, and nothing caught my eye from any brand.

Could Have Been a Contender

Boring poll, I know. Boring colors too but they're among my favorite dial color options.

The problem is, there's one watch I love in both colors. I own the meteor grey but I think I want the anthracite. Everything else about the watch is essentially the same. The finish is slightly different (vertical brushing vs sunray).
