A few years back, barely a week went by without someone showing off their latest hydro modded watch, or asking questions on how to do it. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a post on this now. Why has it fallen out of fashion?

(Hydro modding was the act of filling your G Shock with an inert silicon oil, which was said to enhance the legibility of the digital display, as well as increasing the water resistance due to the watch withstanding higher outside pressures)

Suggestion for a glue to stick bezel lume pip… https://rkwatchservice.com/suggestion-for-a-glue-to-stick-bezel-lume-pip/ Sun, 09 Mar 2025 12:45:56 +0000 https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/suggestion-for-a-glue-to-stick-bezel-lume-pip.5617788/ Watch Repair & Restoration Services in Northbrook & North Chicago Suburbs. I am looking to glue a lume pip onto a bezel that wasn't designed to hold one. It has a small mounting pin on the back of the pip which I intend to remove. Want to glue it to the bezel, but don't want it to be permanent and damage it if I ever want to remove in future. (Otherwise I'd just use Araldite!) The watch never touches water (for diving), and I'm very careful on my watches. If it falls off, well no big deal.

Any suggestions for a suitable adhesive?

I have just bought an Invicta 0071 'scuba' 200m watch. The bezel is almost impossible to turn, having to take the watch off my wrist and gripping it tightly with a microfiber cloth. Even then it is very stiff. (Being brand new it's obviously not full of daily use crud)

My instinct is to apply a few drops of oil, but I need to know what kind as I don't want it to damage any seals/gaskets. Preferably something I already have in my garage (PTFE spray, graphite oil spray, WD40 etc)
