Bought new in 2018 and worn perhaps 7 or 8 times on special occasions. Purchased a 126618LB a few months ago and can't really justify/rationalize owning both.

Extra receipt from RSC included as the AD scratched a link and mangled two screw heads when they sized it and RSC was kind enough to correct/replace the link and screws.

We've all seen a lot of complaints/rants here over the years regarding other brand's service centers. Everything from minor annoyances to major issues.

This got me thinking about how few I've read regarding Rolex, which is rather impressive given their 1 million watches sold each year.

But, there must be some with less than stellar experiences, so I though it would be interesting to share and if nothing else to…

Rolex Service Center Problems

Just bought the Vulcain Skindiver Nautique with the bracelet and 2 extra straps.

Keeping one of them, but selling the Tropical Rubber.

Purchased new but had trouble with the clone movement so I had a local watchmaker replace it for 350 to now include a genuine ETA 2824-2 movement in 2022.

Runs flawlessly and keeps good time… gaining roughly 2-3 seconds a day on my winder.

Also includes a Ginault OEM strap, could be canvas or nylon, I'm not sure. (see pics)

I was at Chase bank yesterday and out of nowhere the teller, a young many of around 19 to 20 said "I really like your watch."

Of course I said thanks and mentioned it was one of my favorites.

I noticed a few interesting releases from Rolex that might have been overlooked by many, given the dominance of the new Land-Dweller online.

First one that really caught my eye is the GMT-Master II with a new Tiger Iron dial which is a metamorphic rock which is composed of tiger’s eye, red jasper and silvery hematite:

My watch collection has been mostly complete since 2023 as there isn't really anything left I feel I want and that would also fit into my rotation.

The one minor exception is a purple dial three handed watch (I don't need any more chronometers or GMT watches either).

Not particularly important and I haven't thought about it much until recently purchasing a nice deep purple dress shirt.

Of course a black dial would still work perfectly fine, but this did reignite the idea of the last color…
