I bought my 2008 Explorer ll (3186 movement) last April. It’s the only watch I’ve had twice…I stupidly traded my last one whilst on vacation in 2009. This one is staying.

A few weeks ago the 24 hour hand started not keeping up….and then it stopped moving entirely. The small-town dealer in central Italy who sold me the watch immediately said he’d deal with it under his 12 month guarantee.

Last week I collected the watch from his colleague, a one-man-show watch shop and repairs. Nice guy. Told me the watch is now running perfectly, and that it’s keeping very good time. I left happy.

I got home, set the watch, and am in love with it all over again.

This evening, six days of normal wear later, I thought I’d check its accuracy….. +/- 0. It’s bang on.

I’ve never had this with any of the many, many watches I’ve owned over the years, and I know where I’ll be going for service in the future.

It has put a little smile on my face, and so I thought I’d share…
