I recently purchased a watch from Japan for about $7,000. The seller said the value was $10,000 And now I have to pay a duty of about $1,200.

Everything I've read says that this is on the importer. Is there anything I can do about this?

Selling my Tudor GMT, this beautiful watch is not getting enough wrist time so I'm looking to sell it. Asking $2,600. Good condition. It does have some wear. I bought it in May of 2022. Full set. Bracelet and two custom straps.
