I got my recently acquired calatrava back from service this week and the first day of wearing it, I noticed what appeared to be imperfections on the dial.

The marks are between the 4 and 5 marker and the 10 and 11 marker. You can’t see these at all even with a loupe when looking at the dial straight on. You can only see them when light hits them at just the right angle.

My first thought was they are hand removal tool marks from the service. However, upon further research, I think these are from the footers under the dial. I found a couple dials with the footers in exactly the same places on two other dials online and I didn’t have to look very hard.

My conclusion is this is completely normal and nothing to worry about. I think I never noticed them before service because I just looked at the watch with a loupe head on and saw a flawless dial and moved on. I never wore the watch until after coming back from service.

Anyone else notice this on your dial?
