I have my fathers Omega Seamaster chronograph from 1975 caliber 1040. Went to the Omega boutique to have them send it to Switzerland to service it . I had looked on their web site and it had a listed cost at $900. Well not quite the case. Because it was a"special" movement the cost now would be $1500!!!!! I went back and collected the watch. Anyone know someone who can get this running for me for a reasonable price?
The aforementioned watch. It is quite complicated with 4 main hands the date…

So a few years ago the rubber strap on my Titanium Aquatimer. I finally got a hold of IWC and they wanted $250 for a replacement rubber strap. I had heard a number of years ago to spray the band with silicone and then put it in boiling water. I tried it a few times without luck. Then this morning I gave it one more try. This time I put the band in 165° and let it sit until it cooled to room temperature. Soft and pliable again. Now to track down two keeper loops, the original ones got hard…

So I have a IWC Aquatimer 2000 Titanium that was running so bad the timegrapher couldn't even record anything! So I took it to a local watchmaker and he diagnosed it with a broken main spring. So he replaced the spring and did a service as it had never been serviced.
I get it back and check and it is running 0 sec a day I am happy. Start to wear it and it is gaining 5 -10 sec a day. Is this acceptable or should I take it back and have him adjust the balance spring? The guy who did the...
