Just grabbed a King Seiko 5625-7000 (SGP, 1969) — near-NOS plating, original silver dial, serviced — all for AUD$850 delivered from Japan to Australia, and a nice brand new Hirsch camelgrain strap. I’ve been hunting a clean gold KS for what seems forever, and this one finally popped up. Usually they have plating loss, especially around the lugs.

Got an offer from an Authorized Dealer (AD) for a brand new Grand Seiko SBGA211 'Snowflake' at 20% off retail. A second AD also indicated they'd discount (they just offered the discount without me even asking).

This seems wild to me because, let's be honest, before this year, getting any kind of discount on a Grand Seiko from an AD felt pretty much impossible. It was like getting blood out of a stone.
