After several years of ownership, I’ve pretty much come to the conclusion I prefer the all steel white dial 116520 Daytona to the steel 116500 white dial ceramic bezel Daytona. Since last summer, I’ve been feeling more and more like the all steel version is just a better overall design, with a more solid steel feel and a less jewelry-like appearance. In fact, I almost got rid of my 116500 last summer, but had second thoughts. Now, I’m back where I started, thinking fondly of the 116520 again. I think part of my change of heart has to do with wearing my 116528 with its gold bezel for long periods last year. The 116528 just seems to me to have a more coherent overall design with its gold bezel. So, I’ve gone from not liking ceramic bezels in comparison with the old steel bezels, to loving them and touting their superiority, to now looking at them and thinking, I miss my old steel Daytona.
