Popped into my local town high street on a rare weekday off with the intention for popping in for a Costa and a leisurely stroll with nothing particular planned.

Then IT HAPPENED. The pawn shop window glinted in the sun and a couple of shiny things caught my eye.
A 2017 Omega Seamaster Co-Axial 300m Professional, black with the liquid ceramic bezel.
Inner box and all papers. Priced at £2750.
And
A 2007 Breitling Navitimer still on the unused OEM leather strap and pin buckle.
Inner, outer box and all the papers. Originally priced at £2850, reduced to £2600.

I’m not seeking price advise, as the right price is what a person is willing buy at. And they seemed keenly priced to sell in my opinion.
Anyway, went in, had a look, had a haggle, got the price down on each, then a bit more off (16%-ish) for buying the pair.
Expensive coffee granted, but one happy chappie. At home told the 710 what a great day I had. She just rolled her eyes and said "more watches?"
No pleasing some people.

Does anyone know any details about the Breitling Blackbird circa 1990’s – 2000’s pre chronometer 39mm?

I’ve had two over the years, one fully brushed steel case and bracelet with Tacymetre spelled Tachymeter and my current one which is the same, but with fully polished sides, so only the front and back are brushed steel.

I was just wondering which finish is the correct one? Or is the variation simply age dependant as the model evolved?

Each book or books on the top row & the Bvlgari book (won’t fit on the shelf) are linked to a brand or model I have owned over the last 30 years.
Just a decent JLC book to source, which is proving more difficult than first thought.

Second row are general watch books.
Bottom row are movement / watch mechanicals / tinkering books.

I say I’m induging my passion and hobby. The 710 says I’m nuts!

Presenting the Jaeger-LeCoultre Ultra Thin, Moon 39.

Morning all,
I thought I’d pose this question here as I’m having no joy myself.
I like to have at least one book relating to a watch manufacturer if I have a watch of theirs in my collection.

Is there such an item as a history book for Jaeger Le-Coultre? Along the lines of the many written about Rolex, Omega etal.

I’ve looked quite a bit on eBay, Amazon ,google in general, and although there are lots of JLC "books" for sale at various price points from next to nothing to the absolutely ridiculous they have all turned out to be just the book bound brochure for different years.

Any steer in the right direction would be most helpful.

I’ve been tinkering with the idea of putting together my own watch stands. (Making is a little stretch as there was very little "tooling" involved).
And I’ve finally finished them.
Please note the scratched and marked mirrors aren’t even close to what they look like in the photo. Obviously the camera is better than my eye.

Space watches on astronauts, dive watches on deep sea divers "posh" watches obviously being handled by the top hatted concierge.
The "specials" Racing watch with the racing cars, and the other one with the same name as the SR-71
Tried to have a bit of fun with them, as watch collecting can get far too serious at times. (LOL at times)
