After some advice, much wiser people than I am on here!

We looked at house last year that sold in Jan2025, it has just come back on the market. The buyer pulled out as the house has a timber frame and was worried about future value, or so I was told, no idea to really know why they pulled out.

We are still tempted to be honest, the house is up for £485k, the value on the survey was £430k, so they would probably take £415k, our house is worth maybe £440k . It does need maybe £100k spending on it, new heating system, some windows, bathrooms, it is all very out of date, full new carpets, skirting, doors etc. I have the same worry that we would do all that and in the future then struggle to sell the house. It would be a house for the long term, not something to fix and and sell.

It was on the market for about 6 months+ before selling, it is the ugliest house in the village (from the front) the back garden and house is nice, and it’s a decent size, approx 255m2. It has not had much interest, houses that size in the village have sold recently, £670k for one down my street last year and a couple for £700k ish the year before.

I checked with HSBC who my current mortgage is with and they will offer a mortgage if it has a brick external wall with a cavity and min of 275mm of brick, the seller has confirmed it has all of these. So the mortgage should not be an issue.

Anyway, would you buy a timber framed house?

Has anyone ever been to Andorra?

I have not been away for the last few years and the last 3 trips before that I went to Mayrhofen with the lads, which was always amazing.

Looking to go away with the family this year, 2 kids (10 and 8) and it would be there first trip. Chances are we will take them out of half term to try save some money, Andorra comes in very cheap compared to France or Austria.

Just wondering if anyone has been to any of the resorts there and if they enjoyed it. I did go to Bansko many years ago and whilst it was good was very limiting and we all got bored of the small size after a few days, this is my fear with Andorra.
