For sale is this Seiko Prospex solar flight chronograph with slide rule bezel. It has small running seconds, a 60 minute chronograph that ticks every 1/5 second, and an alarm which can also be used as a second time zone display. There’s lots going on with the dial and bezel but it’s all well laid out and legible.

I just got a Certina quartz chronograph powered by an ETA 251.264. I popped the back off out of curiosity to have a look. Turns out the battery clip was on backwards.

Close-up images seem to show some sort of mesh embedded in the sapphire crystal. Could the energy be getting absorbed there? I wonder if that could be a legibility problem when wearing polarized lenses.
