Can I essentially make an ETA 2804-2 movement by removing the auto wind from an ETA 2824-2?

I have a broken 2804-2 movement.
I would think if I take a 2824-2 movement and remove the auto wind that I would be left with a basic 2804-2 hand wind movement...
