Periodic Poll: Watch Types We’re Suckers For (Summer 2025)

Just felt like posting a poll I feel like I ask occasionally: What are the types of watches we’re absolutely suckers for. Just can’t seem to have enough of them in our collection?

For me, it turns out I’m a sucker for GMT/Worldtimer watches. Caller, traveler, true world timer, dual time bezel, doesn’t much matter. Just love being able to have 2-3 timezones on my watch.

It used to be Moonphase (although I’ve never owned one) – but I was absolutely gaga over them for a year or two…

Watch brands to “get in on now before they…”

OK, so I remember hearing tales of old soldiers buying Rolexes at the PX for a fraction of what they cost today, or Omegas, etc.

We’ve ALL heard the stories.

So my question to you is: What are the brands we all know today that are in that “get in now before they become the next outrageously expensive brand” phase?

  • Seiko Skyliner (After getting my birthday watch, this one just didn’t get wrist time)
  • Glashütte Spezimatic (Just didn’t get enough wrist time)
  • Tsao Baltimore Constellation (Again, no wrist time, and fully lumed dials bug…

Dr. Strange’s useless drawer…

And Autocorrect can go to help for mangli…

Anybody own a Mido Ocean Star GMT? Need a review…

I’ve bene considering getting a Mido Ocean Star GMT – but I’m hesitating because they’re 44mm diameter.

They’re gorgeous to look at, but I’ve found myself tending to like 40mm-42mm the best.

I know they have a 40mm version, but it has 21mm lugs, which is really off-putting when you’ve accumulated 20 and 22mm straps…

Anyway, I was hoping to get a wrist report about how the 44mm version wears. Does it wear large or small? Is it very thick? Will it work under a dress shirt cuff, or is it…
