We have a newish front door. It’s wood but has a multipoint locking system.
A few weeks ago it started playing up but I was going away for a couple of weeks. While I was away, the (young adult) kids tell me it’s got worse and they pretty much used the back door all the time I was away. I get back and it’s really not working well. Yesterday, I can’t open it from the inside (using the thumb turn) but it will open from the outside with a key. So I decide I’ll get in contact with the supplier on Monday morning.

This morning it won’t open at all. When I turn the key or try it from the inside I can hear some mechanism working but it’s like that last bit of unlocking isn’t happening.

I’m going to get it looked at (and fixed) obviously either by the supplier if it’s still under warranty or a local locksmith if not. But I thought I’d as on here to see if anyone has knowledge/experience regarding the fix. My concern is that if the door can’t be opened it can’t be fixed but I’m counting on a locksmith having skills/tricks/tools that I don’t have.

Anyone had similar? How did it go?

I have ~3 years left on HP to pay for my current car. I have no plans to change my car in the near future.
I have just been given a bonus and have the option to pay off the finance – this was always the plan as I knew this money was coming.
When I paid off my mortgage, I was advised that there were benefits to leaving a very small amount (which I did). Are there any benefits to doing the same with car HP?

(yes, I know I should be spending the money on a watch)

Possibly not the first thing that comes to mind early on a Thursday morning but I’m getting a P&O ferry back to the UK later. I don’t drink a huge amount of whisky but I like to have a couple of bottles in at home for choice. The two I had at home (an Islay and a Jura) were bought on a ferry in 2021 but I finished one just before Xmas and there’ not much left in the other so I’m looking to pick up a couple on the way back.
Ideally I’d like them to be:

• two different styles
• delicious
• bargains (although cost actually that important – if I’m going to take three years to drink them, I’m soon going to forget whether or not I spent an extra tenner)

I know a lot of the whiskies are ‘duty free’ specials making it difficult to compare vs. high street whisky (it’s almost like they do that deliberately). Does anyone know if there are any review sites specifically for duty free specials? Or does anyone have any specific recommendations?
