“Cheapest” mechanical watch that still gets wrist time?

Hi OF. As my watch collection grows more collectible and more vintage, I find myself having more limited wrist time. Just wondering what is your most “cheapest” mechanical/automatic watch that still gets some valuable wrist time? And I’m not talking about some beloved G-Shocks, Swatch, Timex, or even Apple.

Here is my Oris Artelier Complication that I found for a cool $400.

First Rolex Sub…a 1680.

Happy Lunar New Year! A new year…a new interest. Bought a couple vintage Rolex since someone I knew was selling them at a decent price.

Never researched much on Rolex or the 1680, but of course I did for this one. The bezel that came with this Role…

Faded bezel advice for a vintage Rolex Sub

Longtime reader here, and occasional poster. But I had a unique question regarding if a faded bezel on my Rolex 1680 Submariner was a true faded bezel or possibly aftermarket. I think the look is pretty nice and I call it my “Galaxy Sub”…lol. I bought it from a longtime watchmaker I knew and he had this in his drawer for over 20 years. He said it’s genuine Rolex and I trust him. However, the one issue that I had was the raised outline/uneven texture of the silver numerals and indices. I…

Still learning about redial indicators…Omega Triple Calendar

Interested in this Omega Triple Calendar Moonphase 2602. Been interested in a few, but many OF members have pointed out that most were redials. Saw this one for a good price, though there are some issues, date change button is stuck, movement looks very dirty. But those are minor compared to the dial. Is this another redial? I’ve tried to compare to other Omega 2606 and but many of them were also redials. Price is tempting…

Another PO rubber strap question…9300 vs Ultra Deep

Been on a mission lately to upgrade my watch collection, including making improvements/upgrade to my current watches. I have an Omega Planet Ocean 9300 Chronograph with 22mm lugs. It was one of my first major watch purchases. But at that time, I wasn’t willing to spend the expenses needed to find OEM straps since I already had the bracelet. However, with the bracelet, the watch is way too heavy. Can’t wear it for long. So I’m trying to find an OEM strap for my 9300 PO. But now I’m finding…

Stop gap or blasphemy for the 2998 and 105.002

to put modern service parts on a vintage Speedy? For example, white service Alpha Hands from the modern CK2998 on a 105.002 or vintage 2998?

So I recently purchased an 105.002 pre Ed White post 2998 transitional at a comparatively "inexpensive&q…

105.003 Ed Franken on The Bay

Seen this "Ed White" on eBay for a loooong time and surprised me that no one on OF has brought it up. Even a newbie like I could tell it's a franken. But when I talked to the seller (trying to see if it's cheap enough as parts), he …
