Is the SAB065 Cocktail Time a dress watch?

I’ve been watching too many youtube videos…

To me it looks like a dress watch a lot of the time. I have mine on a blue croc leather strap and believe it looks awesome. I wear this watch often when I wear a jacket. In some reckonings it pushes the upper size limit for a true dress watch. It has a date. Some say that complication takes it out of the pure dress watch category (pedants).

How do you sort your watch collection?

I was walking the dog this morning and continuing an interior dialog about how to sort my watches in their drawers. I can see several different philosophies.

  • Sort by brand. All ten Seikos go together.
  • Sort by type. Here are the divers. Here are the dress watches.
  • Sort by size. Tiny vintage watches on one end, the 44mm Laco on the other.
  • Sort by usage, from most worn to least

I can defend pretty much any of these as a strategy. Currently I’m mostly by brand…

An old wood tool box as a watch box

I’ve always kept my watches in a small tray in my closet. But some posts here got me thinking bigger. I had an old wooden tool chest in the garage. An elderly friend of my mother gave it to me many years ago. It didn’t have much in it. So I brought it in and cleaned it up. I don’t have enough watches to fill it, but I like having room to expand. Here’s some pics.
