I’ve decided to get one of these from Watchdives. 39mm titanium case and bracelet with nh35 movement. It’s very light and comfortable and the lume is excellent.

Thought I’d show off one of my mods. I think it works rather well. 37mm case and chapter ring from Lucius Atelier. Blue A/R crystal from Cousins. Bezel is NOS Seiko SKX001. Dial is from a Seiko 7S36-03J0. It has lumed numerals which I think is JDM only but could be wrong. Certainly the donor came from Japan. Seiko nh36 movement with black day/date wheels. Hands from Namokimods. Tropical style rubber strap. It’s just a nice size for me and not too thick. Very comfortable. Cheers.

Away from home at the moment and had noticed a middle aged homeless chap pitched up outside a nearby Co-op over the last week. Took pity on him today and bought him some sandwiches, biscuits, crisps, etc. A bag full of stuff. He was appreciative. Not something I would normally do. I live in the sticks and don’t usually see these people. Sometimes I get charity workers at the door but they usually get short shrift. I’m not trying to brag. It didn’t make me feel good in anyway. Just a bit more appreciative of my own circumstances. Shit, we don’t know how lucky we are.

I hope this is okay with the boss.

I’m a keen modder and like building watches to my own taste. Most cases available from the usual sources tend to be large modern size but I prefer something smaller. There is a company that makes watch parts that is seeking crowd funding to produce a 37mm diver watch case which is definitely to my liking. I have signed up for one but to be honest I don’t think they’ve given themselves enough time to reach the required goal. However I thought I would post a link here in case anyone is interested.

Have just watched Apocalypse Now again. The scene where the helicopters are approaching the beach while playing Wagner on loudspeakers. Could this actually be heard by anyone on the ground? I know it’s just a film etc,etc. But if it was real would it be possible. I mean Huey helicopters were very noisy. The whopping sound of the rotors could be heard from miles away. Could anyone on the ground actually have heard any music coming from the loudspeakers? Or is it just poetic license.
