Some 10+ years ago, the very friendly members of this forum helped me find the watch I am wearing now - the Hamilton Khaki Field with a metal strap H684112.
That is the baseline of what I'm looking for, but...

In the meantime, I also bought a Casio Mudmaster GWG-1000 and - I got totally spoiled by solar and atomic (the radio controlled thingy).

This Casio I am now selling on ebay, because I simply don't feel like wearing such a chunky watch on my wrist anymore.
