Sinn U1 not all that big after all?

I’ve seen lots of posts over the years about how much of a brute the Sinn U1 is and then all the U50 threads exclaiming how glad people are that Sinn have finally released a wearable U1….

…but mine wears a bit small on me. See the first two pics. Then there’s a pic of someone else diving with a U1 strapped next to a Seiko Turtle which dwarfs it. Finally there’s a pic or the U1 next to a 42mm Tudor Pelagos and frankly the Pelagos looks bigger.

What gives? On paper the U1 isn’t a small…

Pulling the crown on a wound movement…and then leaving it there

Does pulling the crown out on an auto with hacking feature….and then leaving it there for days in any way damage the movement?

I’m curious because I would assume that it was bad practice but I read somewhere that when this chap took his watch off after wearing it all day he would pull the crown and freeze the movement until he next wore it so as to not lose the power reserve he had built up.

Opinions?

Need advice on watch boxes

I have bought 3 cases over the years to store my watches in and none of them have been suitable. As I have a large wrist none of the inserts supplied are big enough and the slots aren’t deep enough. My watches end up sticking up way too proud of where they should be and they slope to the side bashing into each other due to the small inserts.

I’m preferably wanting the briefcase style with 8-10 slots but will consider any suitably sized case or box at this point!:D

Any ideas?

Handwinding feel/resistance

I have a Willard with the 6R movement which is super-light to wind. A real joy.

My 4R Turtle is much heavier to wind, there is noticeably more resistance when handwinding. It’s not dreadful like a Sellita SW200 or anything but shouldn’t the 4R be as light if not lighter than the 6R? Or does it signify a lack of lubrication of sorts?

Why don’t Seiko make any orange dial divers anymore?

As per the title really. Seiko used to offer awesome orange dials on their divers. Over the years I’ve owned an orange Monster, an orange SKX and an orange Samurai.

Why isn’t there an orange Turtle, an orange Willard, an orange Samurai etc in the range anymore? I’m not aware of them selling an orange-dialled dive watch for years.

Timegraphers

When it comes to giving the accuracy of a watch surely these just give a snapshot of the accuracy at the given amount of wind in the mainspring when you measure it? So you could put the same watch on the timegrapher later on when the power reserve has …
