Hi OF!

Here is a watch that I inherited from my late uncle.
Production around October 1976.
It did not work, so I had to let my watchmaker do his wonders….

He had to clean away some oxidation, solder a little bit with some parts, and a new battery!

Taaadam – it works again!

A really cool piece of history, apparently this was Seikos first movement that combined a chronograph with an alarm function,
and a very nice memory to have of my dear uncle…

That is what somebody paid (including the premium) for an EW on an auction…..
And lots and lots of bids…This one had multiple biding platforms, so lots of attention!

The winner was an online buyer!

I am not sure how this happened…

But first, some more info and an assessment (not my best…):

It had B & P, but the papers did not have any serial nr or ref nr….and stamped 17/7 1978.
It could have been from another watch…?

Hi Forum Friends!

It has been a looooong time since my latest Speedy auction report, and here are a few reasons…

The Guy in the oval office continues to mess up the global economy (and everything else),
so I actually have to work harder than before, and therefore not so much time to spend on Speedyhunting.
I have also noticed that there are not so many nice and attractive Speedys that are up for auctions,
there have been some nice 70´s, but not so many older references.

The summer months in Sweden have been very nice, lots of nice days (and nights) on the sea and close to the waterfronts.
Enjoying food and Brewskis together with friends and family!

And therefore I have managed to stay away from Speedy auctions….
TBH, during the summertime in Europe, there are very few exciting auctions.

Greetings!

This time I was thinking of doing a post/thread where we can share and compare this lovely reference.
The 105.012-66 had two case manufacturers,
Huguenin Freres (HF) and Centrale Boites (CB).
Most of us Speedy Guys know that the CB case has a facet line on top of the lugs,
and different profile compared with the HF,
but you might not know that the backside of the lugs (the footprint) are different?
The CB is on a strap, and the HF is on the bracelet.

Hi OF!

I am starting to look and learn about Speedmaster Mark 2´s with racing dials…(do not ask me why…)!
I have a hard time finding nice websites or info regarding this watch (no Speedmaster101…).

There are of course the lovely watches posted here on the Forum that are nice to look at and compare,
but some more info would be nice?

I have tried to look at the bezel regarding fonts and "dots", and I am a bit stuck here….
