Chronograph from a microbrand with a price tag between 2.5k and 8k.

I don’t see them many. Probably because developing your own chronograph movement is hard and expensive and buying off the shelve one makes the watch pretty big and thick so it’s not easy to sell. But i do love a good proportion chronograph from a smaller brand, it makes it a bit more special.

Can we bring them out in this thread since i have trouble finding those gems?

Stowa makes them, but it’s big and thick at 41mm, 14,7mm thick and 50,2mm lug to lug.

Sporty watch for activities. Smart watch, Garmin or Casio?

I noticed I’m missing a watch for weekend or mid week activities. Nothing special, family hiking day, dog walking, cycling… I like to wear a watch and mostly don’t care for smart watch functions. I use Seiko Astron and it’s fine but it’s titanium and i would prefer silicon band.

So I can go smart watch way and buy Samsung smart watch, Garmin smart watch or go WIS way and buy something cool and sporty, maybe G Shock or something. I don’t want a big watch.

Any cool ideas?

Passing up opportunities to buy a watch?

I did my share of bashing Rolex sales model. I’ve put myself on the list for Yachtmaster (Rhodium dial) 2 years ago at two ADs and got no call.
I’m not sure any more if i would still like to buy this watch if i do get this call. I mean, i still like it a lot, but if i would really love it, i could go and buy it grey for basically the same price that is in a boutique. And i didn’t go yet. Did you also cool down after years of waiting for a watch?

I did turned down another watch months ago…

Rolex GMT is such a boring watch

I own the “Pepsi” version on a jubilee bracelet. The one basically. I don’t have it for a long time but it’s my every day watch right now since i got it. It’s got some color but it’s subdued, not sticking out at all. It’s so comfortable and easy to wear that i simply forget i wear it and don’t even take a glance on it like i did on other watches. It slips under a sleeve without a problem. No hair pulling, great size. It’s basically perfect. So perfect that you forget you wear a watch. So…

You just can’t get a good one (Rolex)

1. You can’t go to the AD and buy one.
2. You can’t go to the AD and order one ( i tried that at more ADs then one a got shown the door or put on a “list”, that was 2 years ago)
3. There are no real brick and mortar second hand Rolex shops around and looking at all the fakery out there i’m not sure i’m comfortable buying from them
4. There are many online sellers with own web shops or over Chrono24 but again, who to trust?

I’m casually looking on youtube at some wheeler dealer type of…

Let’s FLEX it

I wonder which watch is a flex to others? I know, people usually don’t notice someone else’s watch but when they do, it must be something that made them look. It could be a dial color, case/bracelet color, strap color, shine, too big, too small,…you name it. Why do you look or what makes you look and nod in approval?

For me, i always envied people rocking gold watches (case and bracelet). I think i can’t pull that off, it would look gaudy and out of place. But when i see someone with…

Buying a bracelet or not?

I own this Zenith Full Open for couple of months now and love it. It takes 19mm straps but that is not a problem for me, because i also own GS with 19mm lug width and have many nice straps for it so they fit great on this Zenith too. The thing is, i love to change straps…but at the end of the day i kind of really like bracelets too. It’s a bit more blingy, more steel, more presence. What i don’t like is changing bracelets for straps. It’s hard and usually ends in scratches, specially if…
